The Lab's Triathlon Team
This Summer, some of The Lab's staff and friends will be swimming, biking, and running the Lifetime Fitness short-course triathlon at Lake Nokomis on July 11th as a fundraiser for The Lab. Anne Byer-Rajput, Empowerment Resource for Special Education, Joan Gudorf, social worker at Harding Senior High School PSD, and The Lab's two full-time Americorps*VISTAS, Tricia Michel and Kristen Mason, will be competing with a small group of their friends and family.
The team is seeking donations to further promote the vision and goals of The Lab. Funds received right now will go to paying for the Spring 2009 Anthology of student poetry, which will be distributed to all the student poets and their Special Education programs this week. Beyond the book, donations will help fund guest artists and mentors in the Fall of 2009.
The race starts and ends at Lake Nokomis - the biking course spans eastward to and along Mississippi River Road and back to the lake. Click here to find out more about the race and download spectator maps and guides.
The Lab's Tri Team is supporting The Lab and Empowerment through St. Paul Public Schools. Our team is sponsored by House of Speed, a youth speed, agility and character training program. Click here to find out more about House of Speed.
All donations are fully tax deductible - upon receiving your donation, The Lab will mail you your receipt. Donors that are interested in coming out on race day and cheering our team on can sport a complimentary bright orange Lab t-shirt. Let us know if you are interested in getting a shirt!
